Landfills

A Sustainable Biodiverse Landscape

Delivering Biodiversity Net Gain, Carbon Credits and activity in nature.

Many landfills have been closed without sufficient soil to sustain good ecosystems, where grass and shrubbery grow, but most trees would find it difficult to survive beyond 10 years.  Earth Change are committed to creating conditions on closed landfills in which high value ecosystems can be supported.

Woodlands, wildflower meads and wetlands can flourish for over 50 years when delivered using the Land & Water's 3-step Enhanced Habitats Creation Approach which has at its heart the beneficial re-use of soil.

Where possible, existing leachate emissions are treated using passive aerated reedbeds, as a nature-based solution and polished water is redistributed across the site to enhance growth of trees in the summer season to enhance and support the site's Biodiversity Net Gain.
